Hawaiian Oasis at the Four Seasons

🌺E Koko Mai Welcome!🌺 It means welcome in Hawaiian and this was the theme of my Hawaiian trip. And what a welcome it was, it was like Hawaii called me back home! 🤍I am still dreaming of my time there.  Something happened to me when I went to Oahu in 2017 – I felt like I was home – It was a profound feeling and I knew that I was somehow deeply connected to this place and its ancestors. If I ever believed in a past life, it is here. It is a land of immense beauty, deep cultural roots and meaning.  Even the word Aloha is special. It can be a greeting of hello and goodbye and it can also embody the essence. The spirit of Aloha touches me in a deep way. It is a gentleness with humbleness, kindness, warmth and desire to help all.

🌟My host for the week was Four Seasons and they really are top notch when it comes to luxury and service. They know how to make an impression. The whole experience was 5-star, and such thoughtful experiences and amenities were sprinkled throughout.🌟

First up – Maui! Ah, the magic of Maui. They are so happy to greet travelers, especially after the fires. The official word is they want us to visit, they need us to visit. The fires were devastating to the locals and tourism is their number one way of living in West Maui.

I arrived a day early. My room was a beautiful ocean view with a balcony. I walked around and got acquainted with the property. It is a stunner. Maybe you remember they filmed the first White Lotus here. Late in the afternoon, I met the hosts and 2 guest for happy hour. Had the islands official #1 Mai Tai and some dim sum from a local who only makes it for the Four Seasons. The next morning, I headed to the beach early. We had an amazing surprise of sea turtles coming up to swim with us! The group gathered at night and the FAM began. Great advisors from all around the country and one from Canada. Early morning walks along the beach path – hilly and rugged coastline.

Next stop – Oahu! We arrived to an exclusive party on the rooftop of the speakeasy 516. We had evening glow paddle – It was my first time and was scared but it ended up being so dreamy✨.  At the end we laid on the boards and looked up at the stars in the sky. Wow!

The next day we had mindfulness in the pool, floated to a meditation, and spent the day in a cabana at the adult pool with a prescription from Dr. Mai Tai. Then had a lomi lomi massage. Next day, early morning walk along the beach path.

Next up – Hualalai – Big island Kona! WOW – it is such a cute open-air airport. Arrived at the resort and it was beautiful. We were greeted by a ukelele singer. We spent time in the golf shale after a dinner at the restaurant with famous chef Tyler Florence. I hit balls in the driving range, it was fun! The next day we had an early morning boat ride and snorkel adventure to two different beaches. Saw trumpet and puffer fish. The dolphins were a treat. They were really showing off. I felt so peaceful snorkeling and gained the confidence I was missing to continue my PADI certification. I found out I can do the coursework online and then do my dives in a resort! In the afternoon we made tea leaf lei. It was a special ceremony held in their cultural center. I got to spend time with the Aunties and really learn about the Hawaiian culture and the meaning of Aloha and the spirit of Aloha. It was all so very moving that we all had tears when we left. In the evening, we were sent off with a beautiful seafood extravaganza at the signature villa. They provided entertainment – it was at sunset and was so delightful to celebrate our time together.

Last stop – Lana’i! The island is the old pineapple plantation island. It has two Four Seasons resorts. They only fly small planes there (6-8 seaters Cessnas) so it actually feels like you are flying private. You go to a nice lounge and are driven by golf cart to the plane. Quick flight to the island and then whisked away in a tesla to the Sensei plantation resort. I checked in and had a site visit. After, I caught the bus to the beach hotel. I had a quick tour and then got on the sunset cruise to see the island from the sea. I had dinner at Nobu and the next day was spent at Sensei, the wellness property. We walked the property -- They have Japanese onsen gardens which are like small private hot tubs surrounded by nature.  The whole resort is so colorful with plants and flowers as well as really feeling like you are in nature. Quiet and serene. I took a yoga class and then had breakfast at Nobu sensei. I spent the afternoon in my spa hale. They do not have a traditional spa -- It is individual hales that the practitioner comes to you. It is so unique with all the amenities. They have the sauna, steam shower and swirling warm tub inside while outside had both a hot and cooler pool as well as an outdoor shower. Treatment was an hour and spent an hour in hale. One last lunch at Nobu sensei and then headed off to the airport!
